How often do you doubt yourself?

… Really, how often do you think, “It’s just too much for me to handle right now,” “Why do all these tough things keep happening to me?” “I don’t want to deal with this. I can’t do this. This isn’t the way I envisioned things…

In life, it always seems that there’s something that wants to throw you off your block, something that creeps into your mind and makes you question your abilities, your self confidence, your trust in what you believe true.

Sometimes we fight it, and other times we give in.

That doubt gets into our system and it eats at us – rotting away our spirit and casting a shadow over your Joy, which I believe is always present within you, but that doubt, that darn doubt, sometimes makes your think that your Joy has been snatched.

In my life, even though I pride myself of being positive, there have been plenty of times when I have let doubt get the best of me. Nights when doubt made me cry myself to sleep at night, questioning whether or not my dad truly loved me. Long, endless days when I chose to deny myself of the nourishment my body needed, because I doubted that I deserved it.

And looking back at these moments from where I am now, I can see how false all those thoughts were.

Doubt isn’t from God. It’s the farthest thing from God. He will never cause you to feel less worthy of being loved, of being beautiful, of being limitless potential.

But during those hard times, when it seemed like there was nothing that could get me out of my rut of giving weight to all the doubts, a very special person told me this verse, Philippians 4:8, which has been repeated to me countless times; because as much as we think we get it on the first time, the truth is, reminders are good. Very good.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” Philippians 4:8

No matter how hard your current situation may seem, we always have the ability to seek the Truth and to hold onto it.
You were created with a purpose. You have a Father who loves you. Your destiny doesn’t end here – not with the gunk, not with the crap, not with the pain.

So replace that doubt with Truth. I hope it will make as much of a difference in your life as it has made in mine.
